God’s Will Shall be Done at the Appointed Time!

One morning I was reflecting on the world situation and felt saddened by the volume of sin and fear to be observed all over the world. A short while before, we had been watching local and national news and I found myself becoming very tired of the same old thing, over and over. One of the results of age is the matter of experience; the things I was watching were the same things I had watched again and again over the years.

The details, of course, had changed but the essential problems were all too familiar to me; mankind, overwhelmed by sin, was acting in a manner totally contrary to the commands of God!

Later in the morning, our cat, Tom Boy, climbed on to my lap and started purring; as I stroked his head and scratched his chin, I thought, someday I’ll be able to express God’s loving care to the really big cats; to the lions, tigers and other big cats that are also God’s creation. This line of thought helped me remember that things will not always be as they are today; there are better times coming and, by God’s grace, their arrival is truly inevitable!

The thought of the inevitability of God’s better times brightened my outlook immediately; what a joy to know that something infinitely better is waiting for us down the road and its arrival is absolutely certain.

As Christians, it is very important to remember we are not at home yet; this world, as it is today, is a spiritual battlefield and we, as soldiers of the Lord, find ourselves in the middle of a battle that has been going on for thousands of years. It certainly should not surprise anyone that this battlefield is filled with spiritual battles of a very serious nature!

We Win!

There is a piece of really good news, our side wins! The outcome of this lengthy war is already known and our side wins! The dates have already been set for the victory, and the victory celebration and you have been invited to the celebration! While it is true the invitations have not yet been sent out, as a Christian, you can know beyond any shadow of doubt, that your name is on the list of invitees!

Talk about a blessed hope, this is something we can all look forward to and rejoice in the thought of the coming victory celebration! This victory and victory celebration is totally inevitable and will happen at the time appointed by God!

This can, and should be, a cause for joy and rejoicing in our Risen Savior as the perfect execution of God’s plan for this world is unfolding before our eyes!
