The News Today is Very Provocative!
We seem to be living in a time when all sorts of amazing things are happening all over the world, things that make too little sense to me; I have to wonder, are we beginning to see the hand of God moving among mankind? I know a time is coming when God will directly intervene in the affairs of men with ever increasing intensity until the Lord Jesus Christ returns at his Second Advent; I wonder if this is that time.
Can these events be signs from God that a big change is coming soon? I know the Lord was very aggravated with the Pharisees when they were blind to the signs at his First Advent. For example, in Matthew 16: 1-3 it is written:
“16 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.“
The World Situation Today
If one examines the Bible, it is easy to find many parallels between world conditions as described for the end times and the world conditions surrounding us today. Verse after verse seems to fit like a glove with the world we’re living in at this time.
In Luke 21: 10-11 it is written:
10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
Famines, Pestilences and Earthquakes
A brief review of the headlines reveals a variety of events that were predicted in Bible prophecy.

It contains information on earthquakes since the year 1900. New earthquakes usually appear on the site within a few minutes.
You can contact the site creator with questions, suggestions, etc. at earthquaketrack@gmail.com.
There have been: (M1.5 or greater)
128 earthquakes in the past 24 hours
1,077 earthquakes in the past 7 days
5,265 earthquakes in the past 30 days
65,200 earthquakes in the past 365 days
The biggest earthquakes:
today: 5.2 in Rabaul, East New Britain, Papau New Guinea
this week: 6.3 in Panquna, Bougainville, Papau New Guinea
this month: 6.6 in Bonin Islands, Japan
this year: 8.0 in Lagunas, Loreto, Peru
While the news is filled with nations rising against nations, I’m not aware of any great signs from heaven yet.
What About the Church?
I am convinced all born-again Christians will be removed from the earth before the beginning of The Tribulation. I have discussed the timing of this event in some detail in the series, “What’s Going to Happen Next.”
What is not clear from the Bible, is how long, before the beginning of the Tribulation will the church be called home; how bad will the world condition get before the church is removed at the Rapture of the Church. I think it not only possible, but likely that the events we are watching are precursors of the terrible times that will prevail at the end of the Times of the Gentiles!
Laodicean Church
In Revelation 3 the Apostle John is given a description of the seven prophetic church ages; the last church age is the Laodicean Church Age which is described as lukewarm and is mentioned in verses 14-18 where it is written:
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.”
I’m of the opinion we are in this seventh and last church age; the church today seems to be filled with the world while Christ stands outside the church door and knocks to be admitted. In Revelation 3:20 it is written:
20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
While there are still a few churches that make the Lord Jesus Christ the focus of worship; all too many churches have substituted the world for Christ and do so at their own peril!
Only God knows when all this will be changed but I’m of the opinion that once change starts it will just pick up speed until the return of the Lord at His Second Advent.
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen. Revelation 22:20-21
Amen, come Lord Jesus
