The Times of the Gentiles Will Come to a Cataclysmic Close!

For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:27

The Removal of the Church and the End of Life as we have Known it!

The removal of the church will take place without any warning and will trigger a series of changes that will devastate the world! This event, the “Rapture of the Church,” takes place at least seven and perhaps as many as twelve years before the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible gives a broad picture of the events that will follow the rapture and the book of Revelation describes the terrible judgments that will follow; seven seals followed by seven trumpets followed by seven bowls.

Earth shattering events will become commonplace and millions of lives will be lost all over the world. In the midst of this carnage, the gospel of Jesus Christ will be spread to every nation and people group and many will be saved by their faith in Jesus Christ.

Those who are saved, will know from scripture their time of torment and suffering will come to an end by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ at his Second Advent. They shall also know what will signal his return to earth; a vast procession on white horses coming down out of heaven!

White Horses Ridden by Heaven’s Armies Clothed in White Linen!

The Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ will occur at the end of the seven years of judgment called the Tribulation. The return of the Lord will begin with a mighty procession of white horses led by a single rider, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This single rider is described in Revelation 19:11-13 where it is written:

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.”

I cannot even begin to imagine such an incredible sight as that described above; and you must add a mighty trumpet blast which is heard over the entire earth and an equally mighty shout! That would focus one’s attention with an unparalleled intensity I have no doubt!

Granted, the earth will have been a tumultuous place for many years before this event, but nothing like this had been seen before! Those who love the Lord Jesus Christ see deliverance approaching, those who fear the Lord Jesus Christ see destruction and judgment coming.

The Bible does not state exactly how long this procession will visibly circle the earth, but does tell us all nations will witness it. The armies in heaven are not specifically identified, but I believe it is safe to say this army will likely include both angels, and resurrected Christians.

In Revelation 19:15-16 it is written:

15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword (ῥομφαία), that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.

In verse 15 we see the Lord’s weapon of choice are his words; he speaks and it is done! The enemy is defeated by the words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ. I find this most interesting as the instrument of creation were also the words of the Lord. In Genesis 1, “Then God said” is the instrument of creation!

God spoke creation into existence and God will speak judgment and destruction on his creation at his Second Advent!

Next Time, Return to the Mount of Olives
