What are God’s Plans for the USA?
The day before the election, I told my wife it will be interesting to see what the Lord has planned for the USA. We speak of political parties and elections as if those parties and the electorate are solely responsible for the composition of the government. The Bible corrects that misconception in Romans 13:1-3 where it is written:
“13 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.”
It helps to remember that Nero was Emperor over the Roman Empire and Christians were being severely persecuted by the government when those verses were written!
Where is the USA?
Those individuals “winning” elections, have no Biblical basis for self-congratulatory exclamation as they are all there as a part of God’s plan for the nation and have been chosen by God to implement his plans. They have been placed in positions of authority to either bless or judge the nation in accordance with God’s will!
The total absence of the United States as a world power has long been noted in Biblical references to the “End Times!” What is going to happen that will remove the United States from the world scene? It appears we are now witnessing that process in real time as we watch the steady deterioration of this country.
Virtually everywhere you look, there are significant signs of deterioration and decay in both infrastructure and morality! This recent election placed grossly immoral issues on the table as election options and provided an opportunity to support those issues with your vote.
What’s Coming Next?
In light of the recent election, it does seem likely that God’s hand of judgment will remain on the United States. The future for this country does not look promising if we continue doing what we’ve been doing! From a Biblical perspective, there is no unfulfilled prophecy that must take place before the Lord can call the church home to heaven. The removal of the church could take place at any time.
The removal of the church will have a deadly affect on this country; the estimated population loss for the United States, at the removal of all Christians, would be in the area of 151,870,000. The devastation from such a sudden loss of people would be impossible to calculate. I suspect the confusion and chaos resulting from the disappearance of so many could well be the catalyst for the Psalms 83 attack on Israel and could include the United States.
As God’s ambassadors to the world, it is important we retain our focus on the work that has been given to us. The great commission is still in effect; our job has not changed!
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Hi Mr. Bower,
“It helps to remember that Nero was Emperor over the Roman Empire and Christians were being severely persecuted by the government when those verses (Romans 13) were written!”
I found this tidbit very interesting and helpful. I know election results are not where Believers should place their hope or confidence. It sure is infuriating though when we know so much corruption is taking place during all the delays and changes allowed in some States regarding mail-in ballots. With nothing seeming to be done about it by the weak opposition party.
Grateful we won’t be around when The Restrainer is removed from this earth along with all the Believers. The left will get what it deserves then and they can enjoy living with the fruit of their deceitful, ungodly actions with all their like-minded friends. Even so, I pray they repent before it’s too late.
Thanks for sharing.

Cathy, thank you for commenting! This is definitely a time to let Philippians 4:4-9 be our guide:
4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
