The Feast of Trumpets, 2025

I have found the rather extensive speculation about the Feast of Trumpets this year to be interesting and provocative! There is so much going on around the world that fits Biblical prophecy for the end-times that it is not surprising many would be trying to connect the dots!

As a δοῦλος (servant) of Jesus Christ, I would like to invite you to join me in some speculation about the future.

What If?

Did our Lord share an important clue when he referenced “Noah’s day”?

“³⁷ “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. ³⁸ In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. ³⁹ People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.” Matthew 24:37-39

Seven days before the flood came, the Lord told Noah to come into the ark so those who were to be saved would be safe from the coming judgement. At that point, the door to safety was sealed by God, not Noah!

How would that apply to the situation today?

Today, the entire world seems to be in a state of rebellion against God. The Bible predicted this in several places

“1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. ² For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. ³ They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. ⁴ They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. ⁵ They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

A time is coming when the Lord will remove all born again believers and many believe that will happen soon! Let us presume this will be connected to the Feast of Trumpets which takes place this month, on the 22nd or 23rd.

Counting back seven days would be the 16th or the 17th of September. All born-again believers would be moved to a place of safety on one of those two dates by their removal to heaven.

What Happens Then?

The instantaneous removal of millions of people will create confusion and chaos among those who are left behind; the United States will be devastated when this happens. Those who view the USA as the “Great Satan” may well see this as an opportunity to attack both the USA and Israel.

While God has promised to protect Israel, the USA has no such promise from God; one well placed EMP over the USA could make the situation much worse! God’s dramatic intervention on behalf of Israel could inspire Israel and intimidate her enemies leading to a temporary cessation of hostilities!

Some have suggested this Feast of Trumpets will initiate the Tribulation but I am of the opinion this is not the case. There are too many unfulfilled prophecies remaining for the Tribulation to start at this point.

In Israel, the Feast of Trumpets is also known as Rosh Hashanah which is the Jewish New Year, meaning “head of the year” in Hebrew, and marks the beginning of the High Holy Days. It commemorates the creation of the world and humanity, serving as a time for introspection, repentance, and seeking forgiveness.

It could also be the time the Lord takes the next step in Israels restoration. In Ezekiel 36:24 – 37:28, we read of the restoration of Israel and it would appear the first step is in progress:

“²⁴ For I will gather you up from all the nations and bring you home again to your land.”

Israel’s Second Step

The second step is still future and describes the national spiritual awakening of Israel.

²⁵ “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. ²⁶ And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. ²⁷ And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

Next time we will look at Israel’s response to the new situation facing the world in the absence of Christians and the loss of the USA as a world power.
